Preparing for Your Installation: A Handy Guide
We are delighted that you’ve chosen Everwarm Fires for your upcoming installation. To help our team work safely and ensure your home stays as clean as possible, we’ve put together this short guide on how to prepare your space.
1. Creating a Clear Workspace
Our engineers need a bit of “elbow room” to safely handle heavy stoves and flue liners.
- The ‘Clear Zone’: If possible, please create a clear space of about 3m x 3m around the fireplace.
- Furniture: Moving sofas or coffee tables to the other side of the room (or into a hallway) helps us move freely without the risk of accidental bumps.
- Carpets & Flooring: We always use heavy-duty professional floor protectors, but if you have light-colored or delicate carpets, feel free to lay down an extra layer of protection for peace of mind.
2. Protecting Your Belongings
Stove installation can occasionally be a dusty process, especially when working with older chimneys.
- Soft Furnishings: We recommend removing curtains, cushions, or throws from the immediate area, as fabric can easily trap fine dust.
- Electronics: Dust and high-end electronics (like TVs or speakers) don’t get along well! Please move or securely cover any tech near the fireplace.
- Ornaments: Please clear the mantelpiece and any nearby shelves of glass, photos, or sentimental items.
3. Access & Safety
- Parking: Our vans carry very heavy equipment. If you can reserve a space for us directly outside or in the driveway, it helps us get to work much faster.
- Loft & Roof: If your installation requires loft access, please ensure the path to the loft hatch is clear.
- Pets & Little Ones: We love pets, but for their safety (and to prevent them from wandering into the work zone), please keep them in a separate room while the work is being carried out.
4. Power & Facilities
- We will occasionally need to use power tools. Access to a standard plug socket is greatly appreciated.
